Achilles Tendonitis Causes

Achilles tendonitis is a common condition that is an irritation of the Achilles tendon. This tendon gets a lot of use. It is used when climbing steps, walking, running, jumping, or standing on tip toes. It is a strong tendon and designed to take a lot of abuse, but it does get irritated and inflamed, often from over use or from use without a warm-up. Pushing your body too hard and too fast can result in this type of pain. Another common cause is a calf muscle that is too tight.

Achilles Tendonitis Symptoms

Pain is the main symptom of Achilles tendonitis. It can be pain in the morning in the tendon, or it can be pain the day after you have taken part in exercise. If the pain in the back of your heel gets worse with activity or the back of the heel hurts when you wear shoes, it may be Achilles tendonitis.  You may notice swelling that doesn't go away, but mostly it is a pain, then it is probably Achilles tendonitis in Olney, Camp Springs/Clinton, Silver Spring, Kensington, Laurel, and Maple Lawn, MD.

Achilles Tendonitis Treatment
